Research and investigation: The average production capacity utilization rate of large-sized panels in September and October will drop to 75% to 80%

Recently, according to research institutions, panel prices fell in July and August, and the third quarter may fall back to the starting point of this year's TV panel prices. It is expected that the average capacity utilization rate of large-sized panels will continue to decline in September and October.

According to Chen Jianzhu, a senior analyst at market research firm IDC, panel manufacturers will expand production cuts starting from September, reducing at least another 5% to 10% of their production volume. During the National Day holiday, mainland panel factories intend to shut down production for two weeks, and the average capacity utilization rate of large-sized panels in September and October will drop to 75% to 80%.

Chen Jianzhu stated that the trend of continued price decline in September remains unchanged, and it will fall back to the starting point of this year's panel prices, forcing panel manufacturers to step on the brakes.

In October, mainland China will welcome the "National Day" holiday. According to Dixian, CSOT factory has decided to extend the holiday by one week, from October 1st to 14th; The HKC factory will start its two-week holiday on September 26th in advance; BOE has also confirmed a two-week holiday, and the start time of the holiday will be flexibly adjusted according to the production lines of each local factory.

Chen Jianzhu stated that it is estimated that panel factories may expand production cuts by about 25% in October, and the average capacity utilization rate will drop below 80%. As the market gradually enters the off-season, it is expected that the average capacity utilization rate of panel factories in the fourth quarter will be at a level of 75% to 80%.

TrendForce research data shows that after entering August, TV brands still appear conservative in releasing TV panel purchase orders, coupled with low expectations for fourth quarter promotional demand and stricter inventory control, the pressure of TV panel price decline is continuing to expand.

According to the latest TV panel prices in late August, the 32 inch panel is expected to drop by $1, while the 43 inch panel remains unchanged. The price drop of medium and large-sized panels has significantly increased, with a decrease of 3-4 US dollars for 50 inch panels, 2-3 US dollars for 55 inch panels, and 3-4 US dollars for 65 inch and 75 inch panels, respectively.
